Background:
This gene encodes a basic motif-leucine zipper transcription factor of the Maf subfamily. The encoded protein is conserved Anti-Neural retinal specific leucine zipper/NRL抗體among vertebrates and is a critical intrinsic regulator of photoceptor development and function.
